The links on this page will take you to both downloable resources that can be used in planned education settings and more general information and guidance about faith formation for particular age groups. Most of the these resources are free, but some involve a personal or group subscription. If you use any of these as teaching resources, please be sure to give appropriate credit to the writers and/or source.

Christian Reflection: A Series in Faith and Ethics Published by the Institute for Faith and Learning at Baylor University, each issue (which is free to anyone who wants to subscribe) is also linked to study guides and lesson plans for particular journal issues.

Theoacademy Designed specifically for members of the Presbyterian Church (USA), this site offers a series of short video presentations around New Member classes and officer training. Other video series will be created in the future.
Theology and Film 30-60 minute lessons that reference and use film clips. Many are for adults and that will be noted in the particular lesson.

On Being Formerly called “Speaking of Faith,” On Being is a wonderful and rich program on aspects of human spirituality and faith. Hosted by Krista Tippett, it’s available on their website and via podcast.

Each series features “Chuck” who helps us learn about our church while inviting us to have deeper conversations with our pastor. Just Eating: Practicing our Faith at the Table (Middle School version) A free resource to help middle school youth make the connections between faith and food and justice. Although published in 2005, there is still much good information here.

Living Well: Christian Practices for Everyday Life Offered by Lifelong Faith Associaties, this link offers sessions for families, adults or intergenerational groups that focus on 12 faith practices. Please note conditions for use by churches.

G-dCast This website is designed to teach about Judaism in a creative and fun way. Many of the videos, activities, and games around the Hebrew Bible may be helpful for Christian churches, however.
Lent Madness This is a fun Lenten practice that introduces people of all ages to ancient and contemporary Christian saints in the manner of a March Madness basketball tournament. Participants vote on saints based on their characteristics and histories and decide who will win the Golden Halo.
My Faith My Life This blog, curated by the author of an Episopcal confirmation curriculum of the same name, offers links to faith formation resources for youth and adults primarily. However there are some resources for those involved in children’s ministry as well.

Building Faith Curriculum Center A useful page on the Building Faith website that offers scope and sequence charts for a variety of publishers, descriptions of the five basic types of curricula, and an approach to evaluating curricula for your congregation
Choosing Educational Resources The Presbyterian Church (USA) offers a number of downloadable tools to help you evaluate online or print curricula for its approach in forming identity from a Reformed perspective. Several other useful resources for Christian education teams and those involved in choosing curriculum can be found here.
Resource Reviews from the Center for the Ministry of Teaching at Virginia Theological Seminary. If you click on “Reviews” from the landing page, you can find reviews of curriculum, VBS curriculum, mobile apps and more. The reviews are related to curriculum from a variety of publishers and denominations.
