MISSION STATEMENT : The Union Presbyterian Seminary Library provides print and electronic resources as well as library instruction to support the curricula and research needs of the Seminary, with service locations in Richmond, VA and Charlotte, NC. Within the bounds of its curricular focus, the Library also offers resources to church leaders, congregations, and visiting researchers for their study and growing understanding of Christian faith and practice.

Driving directions to the campus

  • From the North or West

    • Driving south on Interstate 95 from Washington or driving east on Interstate 64 from Charlottesville (the two routes merge in Richmond for a mile), take Exit 78 (Boulevard) and follow signs for Union Presbyterian Seminary. From the exit ramp, turn left on Boulevard, Route 161 north. Proceed to a traffic light, and turn right onto Westwood Avenue. Follow Westwood to its intersection with Brook Road. Turn left onto Brook Road. The Union Presbyterian Seminary campus is immediately on your right. Park in front of Watts Hall or on Brook Road.

  • From the South or East

    • Driving north on Interstate 95 or driving west on Interstate 64 (the two routes merge in Richmond for a mile), take Exit 78 (Boulevard) and follow signs for Union Presbyterian Seminary. From the exit ramp, bear right onto Hermitage Road. Turn right onto Brookland Parkway. Follow Brookland Parkway to its intersection with Brook Road. Turn left onto Brook Road. Follow Brook Road to the next traffic light at Westwood Avenue. Union Presbyterian Seminary is ahead on your right. Park in front of Watts Hall or on Brook Road.

  • Arriving by Plane, Bus, or Train

    • If arriving by taxi or limousine service from Richmond International Airport or the Greyhound, Mega Bus, or Amtrak stations, ask the driver to take you to Union Presbyterian Seminary at 3401 Brook Road in Richmond.

Patron Lounge and Cafe

There is a comfortable Patron Lounge in Morton Library, providing a refrigerator, a microwave, an electric kettle, a hot & cold water dispenser, and some supplies for preparing drinks (you may bring your own Keurig pods).  There are two nice sofas in the Patron Lounge along with power strips for recharging your devices.  There are also tables where several people can snack and work together.  A desktop computer has been installed there and networked printing is available with the Canon printer/copier under the atrium stairs on the first floor.  This space is available any time the Library is open.

A coffee shop/cafe is available in Richmond Hall, offering coffee and tea, some meals and snacks.  Richmond Hall is accessible to students, faculty and staff of Union Presbyterian Seminary.  Visitors need to sign out a guest card to have access to the building (for more information, please ask at the Circulation Desk).  Please note that payment at the cafe must be made using a credit or debit card — no cash will be accepted.  Normal open hours for the Richmond Hall cafe are :
