Catalog Tutorial (CATALEARN)

To locate the materials you want within our Richmond and Charlotte collections, you will need to learn to use our Library’s catalog. We possess a very rich physical collection of over 400,000 items.  In addition, we offer electronic access to many more e-books, digital journals, online indexing databases, specialized research sources and streaming video.  We are developing the capability to offer access to a great many of these resources through our Library’s catalog.

Access to the catalog

You can always reach our catalog from the Library’s website.  Use the CATALOG search box on the website, or choose the Catalog link under RESEARCH & RESOURCES. It isn’t necessary for you to log in simply to look up something in our catalog. We invite the public to use it at any time.

New catalog tutorial coming

A new catalog and integrated library system is now in operation.  We are still introducing new features of the system, step by step.  When all of its capabilities are in place, we think you will be pleased with the range of options it will offer.

A new tutorial providing detailed instructions on the use of the new system will appear here as soon as possible.

Please ask our friendly staff for help whenever you like, and we will try to find a way for you to get the answers you need.
