New Single Sign-On Now In Effect

IMPORTANT CHANGE TO LIBRARY ACCESS

THIS CHANGE WILL AFFECT ALL FACULTY, STAFF, AND STUDENTS

We have now initiated a new system of remote access to electronic information at the Union Seminary Library.  It’s a system called “single sign-on.”  It will allow you to access the digital and  physical materials we offer at the Library using just your barcode and PIN.  Your barcode is the number printed on your Library card, and your PIN is the first three letters of your last name.

Up to now, you have needed another login to access the online databases, e-journals, e-books and other digital resources from off campus.  You will no longer need to use your campus network login for these purposes.  Just use your barcode and PIN if prompted instead of your network login.    If you have any questions about this, please contact Paula Skreslet (804-278-4333) or Ryan Douthat (804-278-4217).

Alumni/ae of Union, PSCE and BTSR may also use your barcode and PIN for off-campus access to ATLAS for Alumni.  The current ATLAS for Alumni credentials will continue to work for a time, as a secondary login option, but will be phased out in the coming year.  So, this is a good time to make sure you have signed up with Circulation for your free alum account!  For more information about this, please contact Lisa Janes (804-278-4335).

Besides reducing the number of user IDs and passwords needed, this change will also enable us to offer additional electronic resources to alumni and community patrons.  We are still working through some technical and legal details related to those new resources and how patrons will access them, but look forward to making them available over time.

Please note : we are intensively testing and updating all links on the Library pages to conform to this new system.  There may be small faults or disruptions while this process is taking place.  If you experience persistent failures, please let us know!
